About SpecPedia
Who publishes this library, and how the material is produced.
SpecPedia is an independent technical publishing project. We turn publicly redistributable standards material — public-domain texts, official abstracts, government open data and legislation — into structured, multilingual reference articles for engineers, compliance teams and procurement professionals.
What we do
Technical standards are written for auditors and regulators, not for the people who have to apply them on a Tuesday afternoon. We restructure that material into a consistent shape: what the requirement is, who it applies to, what evidence satisfies it, and where teams most often fail.
Each article is generated from a defined source set, reviewed by a human editor, and only then published. Nothing goes live automatically.
What we never do
We do not reproduce paywalled standards, and we do not paraphrase copyrighted clause text as a substitute for buying the standard. Where the source is an official abstract, we say so on the page and link to the publisher.
We are not affiliated with ISO, IEC, ASTM, CEN, ANSI or any other standards development organisation, and we do not claim to be. Always confirm requirements against the official standard text before making compliance decisions.
Languages
The library is published in English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Indonesian. Each language version is written and reviewed independently rather than machine-translated, so terminology matches local professional usage.
Every factual statement carries the same identifier and the same value across all six languages. If you find a version where that is not true, please tell us — we treat it as an urgent bug.
